Artist's vision 

MÓNICA VELIZ is a Chilean visual artist. Her inspiration comes from architecture and the complexity of everyday life, from the different paths and choices we make, forming journeys and connections that seek harmony. She is attracted to the tactile nature of threads, ribbons, silks, and linens, with their colors and lights, which she chooses and works carefully to create different tonal scales, spaces, symmetries, and balances, mixing traditional textile techniques with the current times we live in.

About the artist

MÓNICA VELIZ lived in Austin, Texas, where she was exposed to various types of art. Upon her arrival in Chile, she deepened her studies in academies and the Catholic University of Chile. She also completed her textile Diploma at Finis Terrae University.

She has participated in several exhibitions and art fairs in Chile and international venues, such as ART STGO, Eduardo Lira Gallery, Swiss Art Expo in Zurich Switzerland, Grulac Festival in Unesco Paris, and Art Box Project New York.
