Artist's vision
MAITE IZQUIERDO is a Chilean-recognized textile artist. Her work is born from hoarding and breaking down textiles that have had a life already, traces that allow them to be mended, slit, and tied, to rearticulate surfaces and bodies that shelter the space. In her work, there is a continuous intention to extend the experience of the body, a second skin composed of folds and textures that are articulated through color and texture.
